Look What's Up!


I found these lovely fiddleheads in East Sandwich. These will unfold into lush and lovely ferns. Do you know why they are called fiddleheads?

    I love ferns, mine are unfurling just now too, they look almost dead, then all of a sudden.... :0)

    Fiddlehead comes from the way they look like the scroll on the end of violins, I think!

    I just took a photo of some from up here but havent posted it yet. I agree, it's because the look like the narrow end of the violin/ fiddle.
